Nothing like a nice wintery send of for me. It was -23C with the windchill this morning. And we're expecting 8 inches of snow over the next 3 days. Compare that to my future home where it was 13C last night. I just did a quick historical to compare the temperature here to the temperature there for last January, the low for here -30C there -22C. Both pretty cold but if you wonder how much that 8 degrees makes a difference? LOTS!
I can't wait!

Rain Delay
So I didn't ever mention that I won tickets to a baseball game. About a month ago I was in the Chiropractor's office and there was a draw for tickets to a game for the local minor league team. Then they called me last week and told me I won. I was going to take my Dad because he's never been to a game but my cousin was getting married that day so he had to be at the wedding. So I called my brothers and they were all busy that day too. So I asked one of the guys from work if he wanted to go. He agreed and so I was pretty excited for the game today.
But wouldn't you know after standing around for an hour and a half the game was rained out. So now I have to go back to the stadium and exchange the tickets for another game. Hopefully my friend will be able to make it to the game.

Feasting With My Parents
For the last couple of weekends, and the next couple of weekends I've been out at the farm helping my parents prepare for the local fair. There is a lot of work to do but at least I know that they're going to keep me well fed.
On Friday night we had fried chicken which is one of my favorite meals. Saturday was spaghetti and Ribs, Sunday we had Lasagna and Steaks. Yup even if it was a terrible weekend the food would have saved it.
For the record it wasn't a terrible weekend but the weather sucked and it's awfully wet outside.

What a rotten day
There was nothing in particular that was bad about today. It was just kind of an all around sucky day. The weather was brutal today after a lovely warm stretch we were back to -40C windchills. Work itself was okay. Although I was feeling both overwhelmed and underwhelmed at the same time if that's possible. Well I guess it must be because that's how I felt.
I was just in a really shitty mood all day and it's not really any better now. I feel bored but at the same time don't want to do anything. I can't even try sleeping because I went to bed at 8PM last night. Maybe I should just become a shut in.

I get the feeling this is going to be a long month
I'm 4 days into this blog-a-day thing and already I'm forgetting to post. I could be because I did two yesterday but more likely it's because I've spent the whole day being lazy and therefore not connected to the Internet.
In my general laziness I watched exactly no football today. Mostly because I'm still pissed that the Colts lost last night.
I also feel that I need to mention that it's freaking cold out right now. It's -37 Celsius with the windchill which is extremely freaking cold. Makes me glad I barely left my bed today.

Of adverse weather and ridiculous shoes
Whenever the weather is crazy bad I am almost inevitably wearing the most inappropriate footwear. First of all I should mention that I'm all about sensible footwear. I'm not one of these girls who has 30 pairs of shoes (although my shoe collection has been growing recently), I have 2 main pairs aside from my sneakers. Brown flats to wear with brown inspired outfits and a pair of black suede casual shoes for work.
B
ut today I had to go and wear these new shoes I bought at Payless last night, as shown on the left (aren't they cute?). Of course because I hadn't had a chance to wear them yet I didn't realize that the would cause massive blistering on the sides of my feet. So I had to walk home in pain.
Not only that but we're experiencing our first winter storm of the year, a Colorado low that's moving through the next couple of days. Yeah, screw you Colorado just for this I hope the Broncos lose tonight. But not horribly and I hope it's a really high scoring game because I'm starting Cutler. It's more freezing rain than anything else but it's cold and wet.
But hey at least it numbed my extremely sore feet. I'm starting to feel it now that they're thawing a bit though.

The Cat Came Back... or Not
When I got sick at the end of my 2nd year of university my parents offered to get me a puppy. Not being much of a dog person I opted for a somewhat smilar though less slobbery option and got a kitten. I loved my cat. Sure we didn't know right away if it was a boy or girl (the owner told us it was a girl and we never bothered to check until it started growing boy parts), but it was mine. Thank god I chose a unisex name.
I had my kitten with me in my apartment for almost a year before we moved out. He even had his own room in the apartment, though he much prefered to cuddle up on me. My favorite apartment/cat story was when my brother left his Chem textbook open on the sofa overnight and we woke up to find it scattered all over the living room floor. At least it was a second hand textbook.
When I moved out of the apartment back into residence for my last year of University my cat went to live with my parents on the farm. They weren't big fans of a cat in the house so they let him outside whenever he wanted. He became an outdoor/indoor cat. He still liked to cuddle with me when I was home watching TV, but no one else seemed to like him much.
Why am I telling you all of this? Because my cat is missing. Apparently there was a big thunderstorm back home about 2 weeks ago and he's been missing ever since. I hope that he's just lost but it's much more likely that he's dead. Especially since my parents have talked to all of the neighbours and no one has seen him. Poor kitty. I'll miss you.

Stupid Smarch Weather
I probably should have posted this yesterday but whatever. It's freaking May there is no reason it should be snowing in freaking MAY!
I was all prepared to go jacket-less until the fall and then it starts freaking snowing. You know how nice it was on Friday? It was so nice I walked home from work and then wore flip-flops on my way out for the weekend. And by Sunday it was snowing.
