Holy crap, you rate one shape shifter romance novel and Amazon thinks you're some sort of sexual deviant.
A while ago I bought some DVDs from Amazon.ca, since then I've been getting frequent e-mails about whatever they happen to have on sale this week. Sometimes I go back and check out what they recommended to me and I'll rate things if I've seen them or read them so that perhaps my recommendations are a little more accurate to what I actually like.
So a couple of months ago this book by Shelley Laurenston came up on the recommendations list. It was a romance novel, and you know every once in a while it doesn't hurt to do a little frivolous reading just to pass the time. So I read it, I liked it, I rated it.
Well today I go to check out my recommendations and a book comes up so I read the synopsis. And holy crap, they must think I'm some sort of freak over there because this books was just... I don't even know how to describe it. Essentially 3 brothers live in a hunting cabin, one of them finds this chick in the woods and brings her home. They then proceed (all 4 of them) to partake in romantic endeavors with each other. Now granted I haven't actually read the book, but holy shit. They're brothers for Christs sake! I don't know if I'm more disturbed that people have actually read this book and given it positive reviews or that someone actually wrote this.
What kind of world do we live in? And please Amazon just recommend nice normal books. Pretty please. Thanks.

It's been a really weird week
Today was my last day of work for the week and thank god for that. I'm really tempted to give notice. It seems like there is nothing settled in my life right now and since I'm not really a big fan of change this is really difficult for me.
The whole job situation is really messed up right now. I feel like everyone is conspiring against me. I'm probably just being a little more paranoid than normal but it's hard not to feel that way when there is lots of gossip surrounding my job that I don't even know about. I get that there are things that can't be said until they are finalized and who knows if a lot of what we're hearing is crap but if it does turn out to be turn then I'm not in a very good place work-wise.
As for my living arrangements well my lease is up in a couple of months which means I either have to commit to staying put or try to find somewhere else to go. On that front I'm going to see the bank about mortgages tomorrow. Just to see what they'd offer me so that I can decide to buy if I find something I want. Otherwise my brother and I will probably be moving across town.
Which brings me to my next point, grad school. I'm almost at move it or lose it time on this one. I graduated from University almost 2 years ago so it would be hard to get back into the whole school thing. It also brings more uncertainty with the having to move and where do I want to go and where might I get accepted. Right now I'm think about doing a distance ed program. It's not exactly what I want but it's a Master's degree and it doesn't require me to make any real hard choices. But first I want to make sure that by doing this I'm not closing any doors for doing a full research/thesis Master's at some later point, you know just in case.

OH MY GOD!
I promised myself I wouldn't write anything political today BUT this needs to be seen by people who don't watch the news or follow politics at all.
Some of you are still considering who you're going to vote for take a second to watch this before you cast your ballot. Some of you have already voted, you can't go back on it now but you should still watch the video.
And this man could be leading our country just five days from now. I hope anyone that was considering voting Liberal will at least throw thier support behind Jack Layton after this.

The Cat Came Back... or Not
When I got sick at the end of my 2nd year of university my parents offered to get me a puppy. Not being much of a dog person I opted for a somewhat smilar though less slobbery option and got a kitten. I loved my cat. Sure we didn't know right away if it was a boy or girl (the owner told us it was a girl and we never bothered to check until it started growing boy parts), but it was mine. Thank god I chose a unisex name.
I had my kitten with me in my apartment for almost a year before we moved out. He even had his own room in the apartment, though he much prefered to cuddle up on me. My favorite apartment/cat story was when my brother left his Chem textbook open on the sofa overnight and we woke up to find it scattered all over the living room floor. At least it was a second hand textbook.
When I moved out of the apartment back into residence for my last year of University my cat went to live with my parents on the farm. They weren't big fans of a cat in the house so they let him outside whenever he wanted. He became an outdoor/indoor cat. He still liked to cuddle with me when I was home watching TV, but no one else seemed to like him much.
Why am I telling you all of this? Because my cat is missing. Apparently there was a big thunderstorm back home about 2 weeks ago and he's been missing ever since. I hope that he's just lost but it's much more likely that he's dead. Especially since my parents have talked to all of the neighbours and no one has seen him. Poor kitty. I'll miss you.

Election Sign Count - September 15th
For those of you who are not so football-ly inclined here is another election sign count post
Liberal - 8
Conservative -4
Green Party - 1
These are not exact numbers as they are the cumulative from the past week and well sometimes it hard to remember which signs you've already counted but I'm going to say they're pretty close. There is also the issue of the 41% poll that came out last Friday. That's majority territory for those of you who don't know and it was in favor of the Conservatives. But it might just be enough to scare some voters back to the left to prevent the majority. Let's just hope it's not too far in the other direction (ie: Liberal Majority). I've fine with a minority either way but a majority is a scary prospect at this moment.

Today was the Big Reveal
As most of you know by now I have a secret office crush. The fact of the matter is that it's not all that secret but I've not said too much by way of identity to any of my other co-workers. However today I went for lunch with one of my co-workers and we had a nice little discussion about why I'm not willing to tell people that I like them. This of course meant that I had to tell her who it was in order for her to truly understand why I need to keep my mouth shut.
I've always believed that it's better to say what you're feeling than to keep it bottled up. Additionally as soon as I tell someone about my crushes they start to fade (it's a wonderful pattern). So why don't I feel better now that it's all out in the open?
I believe that the first reason is that she didn't seem over enthusiastic about the idea. Not to read too much into it or anything but I can't help but wonder if she doesn't have him kind of marked for herself. It would explain some things. Secondly now I've said it and we've discussed it I realize that there was really no reason for me to believe that he would ever feel anything for me anyway.
I'm actually more worried about the whole thing now that I've talked to her than I was when no one knew anything.
