Since I've moved I've not been eating healthy at all. Part of this is that I'm lazy and I don't want to pack a proper lunch for myself in the morning and part of it is that I'm not living in my own place so I don't feel comfortable making a mess of the kitchen. I'm not one for particularly healthy eating to begin with. I LOVE fast food. These factors taken together present a bit of a challenge for my overall nutritional health.
Lets start with lunch. I like to sleep for as long as I can in the mornings. Particularly when I've stayed up late making phone calls to people 2 times zones away (you know who you are!).Not that I'm complaining about the phone schedule. I manage to survive that but it does mean that I don't want to have to deal with making something for lunch everyday. So usually I just grab something out of the cupboard, which usually means I'm eating a cup of noodles for lunch. Today I went with Uncle Ben's Bistro Express rice.
And supper is usually a matter of trying to eat something quickly so that the lady I'm living with doesn't try to tell me her life story. She's about 75 so she's had a long time to come up with these stories. So usually that doesn't leave a lot of time for proper balanced meal making. Usually it's whatever I pull out of the freezer and heat up.
And then there's the coffee. My work place offers free coffee, so I've gone from my usual pre-work double tall caramel machiatto to about 4 cups of regular joe throughout the day. Some days I feel like it's the only things that gets me through the day.
A collection of random sports stuff, my personal goals, analysis of my crazy dreams and other me-related craziness.

Soothing Words
Has anyone seen the movie Sidney White? No well it's a kind of modernized version of Snow White. It stars Amanda Bynes where instead of 7 Dwarfs (dwarves?) there are 7 Dorks (which I would be reminded actually means whale penis) and the mirror is a Hot or Not page. It's kind of amusing in a fluffy trying to kill time kind of way.
Why am I giving you a movie review instead of doing a blog post, you ask? Well see the Witch in the movie (Rachel Witchburn) has soothing words like Gucchi and Prada. And after today I had to come up with a few of my own soothing words.
Jay Cutler's Pouty face:

Shoe Shopping:
Starbucks Coffee... or anything really. And meeting friends for coffee or lunch. Now mind you this is not in anyway a comprehensive list. It's just a few random items to keep me going until the next time.

Just trying to keep it together
I just don't know what's wrong with me. No actually that's not true I have a diagnosis so I know exactly what's wrong with me. What I don't know is why I feel so bad. A week ago I was on top of the world, now I want to go jump in front of a moving vehicle.
Actually I saw a bad car accident today or the wreckage at least. A van had into the back end of a semi-trailer. Scary looking stuff though my brother figures that only a couple of legs were broken based on the condition we saw the cars in.
I guess I just have to focus on one day at a time and hope things work back.

It's here it's here it's finally here
Well actually it doesn't arrive until tomorrow, and "it" is my first trans-Atlantic trip. I have seriously been planning and saving for this trip for well over a year and now it's finally arrived. We fly to Montreal and then to London and on to Glasgow tommorow and then return on the 3rd of July. I'll try to post some stuff while I'm over there but I'm not making any promises. I suspect there will be little to no internet access at some of the places we're going but we'll see.
I'm so excited I may not be able to sleep tonight.

New Purse Store May Cause Brokeness
So there is a new store near my work. There are actually a lot of random indie clothing stores and stuff near where I work. Which is kind of cool. But they've opened a purse store about half a block away. Now normally I'm not exactly a girly girl kind of girl but every once in a while I like to pamper myself a bit. So today I bought myself a new purse. Frankly there are about 5 others there that I also liked.
So yeah I can see this ending badly. Although KEG has said that now we can't go back until at least April. It's 2 weeks into March so that's not so bad. Let's just hope I can stick to it.

How to get over a bad day at work
1. Check out apartment building in different area of town to remind you that you are moving in just over 2 months.
2. Blog about how to get over crappy day.
3.Remind self that the Duke-UNC (aka evil and evil-er) game is on tonight and that you must watch to see if blood will be shed (answer: god I hope so)
4. Re-read (or read if you haven't yet) baby punching post as this is possibly the most hilarious thing you have read this year.
5. Find baby to punch.
Well okay maybe not that last one.

Nope, that wasn't awkward at all
There is clearly something wrong with me. I am generally a serial crusher. They usually come and go and I get over it. This last one though has been sticking around forever. Every time I think that I'm almost over it, or when something happens that reminds me why I haven't made a move to this point. Seriously we're even past the flirting stage of the relationship. There is nothing there and yet sometimes I find myself thinking "what if...?"
I don't even have my fall back athlete hottie since at the moment everything is on pause. Okay I could get into hockey again. I did enjoy the World Junior's after all. But I think I've outgrown that phase. College basketball, maybe? Yeah that might work if I make sure I'm sticking to juniors and seniors otherwise it's just wrong.

The more things change...
You know the saying the more things change the more they stay the same? Well after writing this post I realized just how true it is.
Someone who reads my blog occasionally, but sometimes forgets that there is a comments section told me that she read that post and she laughed. I couldn't figure out why she thought it was so funny until I really started to think about it.
It would appear that I'm exactly where I started a little over a year and a half ago. I'm about the graduate from my certificate program, whereas in May of 2007, I was graduating from University. I have the same job that I did when I first graduated, but in between I worked a term in a different department. I live with my little brother in an apartment, but he moved out for about 6 months in between. Even on the crushing side I'm still crushing on a QB who's mom probably cuts his hair, though I've switched from Eli Manning to Jay Cutler.
So really as much as things have changed in the past year I'm really back to where I started.

My guilty pleasures
Everyone has things that they do that they don't necessarily want to own up to. Things that if made public may ruin whatever sort of image they are trying to put forward. You can try to tell me that you're not grooming some sort of image but even if something seems to be your second nature there is still an image being created. For example my style when I'm just hanging out at home is much different than how I would dress for work. However I'm getting way off where I was going with this.
I have quite a few guilty pleasures. The first one is romance novels. Not just love stories but really cheesy, you-already-know-what's-going-to-happen-from-reading-the-first-page romance novels. The second is bad Canadian TV shows. I blame this on my upbringing of watching every episode of the original Degrassi ever made. Shows I watch on a weekly basis include Instant Star, Blood Ties and The Murdoch Mysteries. The last one in this quick list is ordering pizza so that I can talk to the cute delivery guy. I try not to do it very often because ordering out is expensive but it's especially nice after a long day when I probably wasn't going to cook anyway.

The Shopping Spree
Normally I'm not a very fun shopper. I'm a get in, get out girl. I hate browsing. But every once in a while I have to remind myself why I force myself to go to work everyday. Sure I just bought a laptop, and yes I'm planning a trip to Scotland next summer but in the meantime it can't be all work and no play.
So today as the beginning of a long weekend of me watching tennis I decided to treat myself a little. I tried on a lot of clothes and only came out with a little and a couple of pairs of shoes. Did I need any of this stuff? Absolutely not. Did it get me out of the apartment for a while that wasn't going to work? Yes.
I didn't actually spend that much money. I know some girls who own purses that cost more than what I spent, but for me it's a big deal because it was really on a whim. I had no intention of going shopping tonight but I looked at my clock at around 6 and said "holy crap it's only 6, I need to do something". And a shopping spree was born. Oh I also had a little excursion when I missed my turnoff and got a little lost. But even that was relaxing.

Reminding myself why I go to work everyday.
As some of you are aware last week I had a bit of a meltdown with regards to my working situation. Well I've had the whole weekend to reflect and quite frankly I don't feel much better about it. However my mother reminded me why I have to continue working for at least another year.

Crappy Facebook Applications
I'm one of those lucky people who doesn't have Facebook blocked at work. This means that I'm able to spend a good part of my day keeping up to date with all of the things that my friends are doing as well as taking advantage of some of the wonderful (and also some not so wonderful) Facebook Apps.
This is great unless those applications are down. For example I found this great application called "Knighthood". The great thing about in in connection to the ability to do work is that you can set your buildings to build/expand and it tells you exactly how long it will take. So you only need to go back to it for a few seconds to set the next one. So today one of the projects was finishing up while I was on coffee break so I figure great I'll set the next build when I get back. It's been down for 2 hours since so my building should be done and I could have been 2 hours into the next one but now I'm not.

Killing time
Strange how the day seems to go by so much slower when you start 30 minutes later. As I've said I've recently changed positions at work. My new boss requires me to come in later to cover a later shift. So for the last 3 days I've been in about half an hour later.
Normal it's about 2:45 and I'm bored but I manage to drag out cleaning my desk to make the time go by. Unfortuatly today I'm still bored at 2:45 and I can't think of anything else to do.

It's Monday
Monday morning (and Tuesdays after a long weekend) always brings a major case of the Mondays. However today it also brings a Monday Night Football game I actually will watch. Unlike most NFL fans there are only certain teams I will watch, the Colts, the Giants and the Saints.
Tonight's game features the New Orleans Saints and the Tennessee Titans. Will this game be any good? Not in the Saints keep putting up exactly zero offense like they have the previous two weeks. So really the only reason for me to watch this game is:
